But do you recall, 1939 brought us a Reindeer who saved the day...Rudolph. 1984 brought us the first Broadus Christmas Stroll. This year the two combine to shine so bright during the celebration of the Ruby Anniversary of the Broadus Christmas Stroll. Everyone is invited for the fun and games with Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer at 2024 Broadus Christmas Stroll, THURSDAY, December 5th.
Celebrate our community this holiday season at our Chamber events, including the annual Christmas Lighting Contest. Whose shiny nose, or shiny business will go down in history as the 2024 decorating & lighting champions? Businesses will be judged on the night of the stroll and residential lighting will be judged on Sunday, December 15th.
On stroll night, December 5th, enjoy an afternoon and evening out on the town of Broadus. At 5:30pm, stop by the Powder River Petals Courtyard to enjoy some Christmas music and the 5th Annual Community Tree Lighting. Our newest Stroll tradition is the selection of a Distinguished Citizen to be honored each year at the tree lighting. The chosen individual will light the tree and an ornament with their name will be hung in commemoration. Our 2024 Broadus Distinguished Citizen is the PRCDHS Lady Hawk Golf Team. Come help us recognize and celebrate these girls who make history by bringing home the first ever State Championship!
While you visit our many local businesses to enjoy treats, sales and socializing, keep your eyes open for Rudolph’s sidekick…Santa! He’ll be strolling around town handing out candy canes to all the good little boys and girls! Then afterwards, join us for some NFR Calcutta rodeo action! We’ll be auctioning off the NFR teams at the Big Sky Bar starting at 7:30pm. Don’t miss your chance to win big at the finals!
Here is your guide, whether it be by streetlight or a shiny red nose, to all of the places to visit on December 5th.
Yellowstone Bank: Enjoy Chili and Cinnamon Rolls from 11 am to 3 pm with the Yellowstone Bank. They will also offer a sweets tray Stroll day and all of the way through the month of December. They can’t wait to see you and show you something new.
Gardner & Billing CPAs: From 3:30 to 7:30 pm, don’t miss Rudolph and Friends as they celebrate the season with flowing chocolate, meatballs, hot cocoa, cider and all the holiday spirit. Bring your camera for a photo-op with Rudolph Characters. The first 100 kids and kids at heart can choose a handmade old-fashioned ornament from the Reindeer Tree to take home and enjoy.
Fleming & Long Insurance: Between 3:30-6:30pm Fleming & Long Insurance will be serving their famous brisket tacos with meat provided by Montana Premium Beef. They’ll have drinks for both young and old so don’t miss out on this delicious stop!
Big Sky Bar: Join the party at the Big Sky with a taco bar and your favorite beverage. Stick around for the NFR Calcutta starting at 7:30pm.
MSU Extension-Powder River Office: Teen 4-H is once again offering a shopping experience for young people as their community service project/ fundraiser. “Penguin Patch Holiday Shop” will be held in the Courthouse Lobby from 4 to 7pm for the kids who want to get their Christmas shopping started!
Gunny’s Guns: Take a stroll to Gunny’s Guns for a chance to see inside Santa’s Workshop. Don’t miss a chance for a peek from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Silver Sage Clothing: Big stroll savings with 25% off storewide sale between the hours of 9:30 am to 8:00 pm. Refreshments and give-aways during the day!
