Our state administrative association supplies me with daily educational articles. Recently, I read an article from a large Montana community newspaper who was investigating a parent claim that the school was suppling litter boxes for students to use in their bathrooms. Her online post stated that her friend and numerous students reported the use of cat litter boxes. The local news contacted the parent to verify the claim but she wouldn’t release the name of her source or the students. She then accused the school district of removing the boxes once it was reported.
I would suspect this same parent would be demanding action if a student placed a false allegation on social media regarding her child. Unlike private schools, public schools must accept all students and parents. We are also expected to educate students on proper social media etiquette and general manners. Obviously, this parent missed a few lessons.
Public schools must now have broad shoulders, they have the arduous task to educate all for the future betterment of our society.
