Lady Hawk Volleyball Beats Ekalaka, Win Second At Bridger Tourney

Broadus took care of business in short order during the Homecoming volleyball match against Ekalaka, last Thursday. Broadus won handily in three sets, 25-10, 25-12, and 25-6, as Maddie Zimmer led the team with 12 kills for the Lady Hawks.

Broadus then traveled to the Bridger Tournament on Saturday, leaving Broadus after half-time of the football game Friday due to Homecoming activities at the half. The team then spent the night in Billings, continuing on bright and early.

After early difficulties in pool play, Broadus then went on a tear, taking out Class B Colstrip on their way to the championship against Bridger. Broadus eventually would place second, going to three sets (in best of three action) against the tough Bridger Lady Scouts.

Broadus Coach Monica Smith is happy with how the Lady Hawks are progressing as a team, noting continued improvement in their ability to handle tough teams over the last couple weeks.

The Lady Hawks go into the weekend at second in the conference with a 7-1 conference record, having fallen only to Circle. Circle holds first place at 8-0, and Forsyth is third at 5-2.

The Lady Hawks will travel to 1-6 Plevna on Friday, and host Circle on Saturday. A win against Circle could potentially vault the Lady Hawks into first, if the Lady Hawks continue to play at the level they've played at the past two weekends, Coach Smith commented.
