Broadus Hawk football hosted Wibaux last Friday, in a game which began early due to a power outage from a burned power pole near Colstrip. The power came back on fairly early in the game, making operation of the lights and score board an option.
Wibaux scored early and kept the lead to go up 38-0 at halftime, as Broadus QB Jayce Schroeder went out with a hand injury but was later able to return. Broadus was able to come back to score in the second half, putting up 24 points, including a 56 yard pass from Schroeder to Logan Capp, and two rushing touchdowns, one from Schroeder and another by Jackson Knapp.
On defense, Kail Irish led the Hawks with 7 solo tackles and 13 assists, including a QB sack. The 24-46 Broadus loss puts Broadus at 0-5 on the season, while Wibaux moves to 4-1.
This Friday, Broadus will host Forsyth for Homecoming. Forsyth is currently 1-4, having beaten Poplar 24-6 last week. They had previously lost 56-18 against Ekalaka, a team which Broadus lost against 46-6.
On Monday, the Broadus team watched film on Forsyth, prepping for the big Homecoming game, which will take place at 7 on Friday. A junior high game will precede the varsity match, beginning at 4:30.
