Hawk Football Plays In Circle

Friday the 13th would not prove to be a fortuitous day for the Hawk football squad, as they traveled to Circle to take on the #4 in the state ranked Wildcats in their home den.

Broadus scored one touchdown in the first half, on a 3 yard run from QB Jayce Schroeder in the second quarter. Broadus had a total of 37 yards of positive offense in the first half, all via rushing.

Broadus scored a touchdown again in the fourth quarter, on a rush from Schroeder and two point conversion throw to Sean Oylear.

Circle put up 47 points to the Hawk's 14 in the game. Despite the lopsided score, Broadus Head Coach Brett Emmons' was optimistic about his team's direction. He noted during a chat on Monday that this was as happy as he's been in losing a game, commenting that the team worked together better than they have all year, showing improved communication and doing a better job of blocking than they had in previous games.

Broadus will now travel nearly to North Dakota on Friday to face Fairview. The Warriors beat Culbertson 47-18 in week 3, and currently are 3-0 in the conference, along with Circle and Ekalaka.

Fairview, along with Circle, are expected to be two of the powerhouse teams in the conference and in the state this season. With Circle at #4 in the maxpreps rankings, Fairview sits at #2, following only Belt.

Emmons noted that the game plan for Fairview is to run their plays as they practiced, and avoid injury in order to continue on with the season. Later in the season, the schedule features several teams that Broadus is expected to match up better against than the early season, providing the Hawks stays healthy. Currently Broadus is down one player, Justin Aye, who is out with a potentially season ending knee injury. Emmons noted there are some bumps and bruises on the team, but unless something comes up this week 11 players are expected to suit up in Fairview.
