Mary Jo was born April 15, 1967, the youngest of five children to Edwin and Josephine (Voigt) Boger at St. Joe's Hospital in Minot. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Foxholm. Mary Jo attended school in Berthold, ND, graduating in 1985. She went on to attend Dickinson State, Bismarck State, and Minot State colleges, before receiving her Certified Dietary Managers degree from UND in Grand Forks.

On October 30, 1993, Mary Jo was united in marriage with Marshal Clarys at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killdeer, ND. They made their first home in "the Bunkhouse" that Marshal's great grandparents moved to a farmstead southwest of Mandan when their home place was flooded by the Garrison Dam in 1953. It was here that Callen, the first of their four children was born. In the spring of 1995, they moved to their "Little House" in New Salem, living there until January of 1998, when they purchased a homestead southwest of Mandan. It was here that Dane, Tyrel, and Miranda were born and completed their family of six. They spent the next 22 years there raising their family. In 2020, Mary Jo and Marshal moved to Olive, MT to join and continue the ranching operation that Marshal's parents started.

During their 30 years of marriage, Mary Jo worked many jobs outside of their home that helped them get to where they are today. This included working at HIT (Housing Industry Training) from 1993-2001, she drove the little school bus from 2001-2012, was the Jr. High and High School Rodeo secretary, bookkeeper at Berger Cattle Company for 5 years, office work at Firestone and Big O Tire, and the Broadus FSA office. In between, she also worked part time at Richardton Nursing Home and Medcenter One dietary department, video sales for D.V. Auctions, and helped in the office at Kist Livestock and Buehler-Larson Funeral Home. She filled in at the Montana Bar and was a tax prep worker for Intuit Tax Service. All of this while raising four children, keeping the books for their family businesses, and helping around the place.

Mary Jo spent many hours working in her flower beds, maintaining her yard and garden boxes, and working in her woodshed. Her woodshed was filled with many craft projects that she would gift to family members and friends.

After Mary Jo's Dad moved to Bismarck in 2002, she accompanied him to as many appointments as she could and ran errands for and with him. She especially enjoyed working with him at Lowe's spring green house in north Bismarck.

Mary Jo was very strong in her faith, attending Mass regularly in St. Anthony and later watching Spirit of Life Mass online. She enjoyed listening to Fr. Josh's podcast and prayed the rosary on trips to doctor appointments in Bismarck and at Mayo.

A devoted daughter, beloved sister, dedicated wife and mother, loving and patient grandma, and a kind and generous friend with the greatest smile and an infectious laugh, Mary Jo will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
