In late August, Doug Denson, son of Ross and Faye Denson and a graduate of Powder River County High School, was awarded the Veteran's Commendation Award by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte.
Denson, a Vietnam War US Army Veteran, was recognized for his service to the nation.
He was also recognized for his commitment to serve Montana students upon returning home, as a teacher and principal. Doug also served his community as the Fire Chief of the Twin Bridges Volunteer Fire Department and as an instructor for the hunter education program for over 40 years.
