The VFW Auxiliary held their July monthly meeting July 10th at the hall. New officers started their responsibilities for the new year. Officers are as follows: President- Annie Brimmer; Sr. Vice President - Kathy Myers; Jr. Vice President - Ginger Bird; Treasurer - Tracey Gorder; Secretary - Molly Lloyd; Patriotic Instructor - Bev Rightnour; Chaplain - Margaret Scoles; Conductress - Pat Ridenour; Guard - Sue Richards; Trustees - Carole Richards, Karen Amende and Margaret Scoles.
We reviewed the 4th of July parade with a few minor suggestions for the next year but overall the group felt good about our float and I do thank those who helped get it together; your efforts are appreciated.
Fair is coming right up, July 25-27, so plans continued for the presentation of the famous VFW hamburgers at the little silver trailer just south of the Community Center. We will again have the tasty hamburgers and cheeseburgers, hot dogs, polish dogs and drinks. We appreciate the support you have always given us and look forward to it again this year.
Before the meeting was adjourned, Pat Ridenour was honored for 25 years of service as secretary for 1595 Auxiliary.
I have ordered some cooler temperatures but I cannot guarantee that they will be delivered timely. In the mean time be careful in the heat. See you at the fair!
