Art & Soul Will Host Art Contest

By Jan Stevens

Art & Soul, the local artesan group, are happy to announce an Art Contest for the local children celebrating the 4th of July.

All children from the community, pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, are welcome to participate in our Patriotic Themed Art Contest. Entries are limited to one per child, 8 ½” x 11” paper that will be displayed hanging, and all types of artist medium are allowed (paint, crayon, colored pencil, colored paper, etc.).

Entries will be divided into four categories with a $20 cash prize awarded to each of the winners of their categories: 4-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 years old.

All entries need to have attached to the back of their entry on a 3”x5” card: Name, age, parent/guardian’s name, and phone number. Entries need to be dropped off at the Henry A. Malley Memorial Library by closing on July 3rd.

Judging will take place on July 4th and entries will be displayed at the Broadus Volunteer Fire Department building.

We are looking forward to celebrating the 4th of July with the community children and seeing the work of the budding artists!
