Pat Gardner Memorial Dessert Auction To Benefit Cancer Fund

By Kara Lee Lambert

The local cancer fund was started by the Gardner family because of Pat Gardner. It helps local families when cancer hits. I was helped when I was diagnosed. It was tremendous help with travel and expenses. They also helped when our daughter was diagnosed. When I got back on my feet I wanted to give back in some way to the cancer fund so I contacted Tyler with the idea of a dessert auction on the 4th of July. It was a success to say the least. The people of our community are more than willing to help with anything having to do with the cancer fund. Many that have had help from the fund have given back by donating auction items or purchasing the baked goodies. We have some wonderful cooks whose desserts are well sought after and many fought after!! With a great group of helpers are 2nd was bigger and better.

Sadly we lost Pat this year and we have dedicated the auction in memory of her. She fought with dignity and grace and was an amazing lady.

The auction will be on the 4th of July. There will be a live and silent auction. We ask anyone wanting to donate a dessert to bring it to the Senior Center anytime after 8:30 and before the parade. The silent auction will end at 12:30 and the live auction will start at 1:00. We will also be selling visors during the parade and throughout the day.

We have all been touched by cancer be it a family member or friend. Come join us and get some goodies to help the cancer fund continue to help our local families with their fight of this horrible disease.
