Letters To The Editor

Editor,

Researching candidates is a daunting task before the primary elections, due to the number running on the Republican ticket.

A group of conservative Republicans including myself locally have done some research on the candidates and offer the following recommendations, based on their past history, voting records, actions and statements. This list, in my opinion, represents the best constitutional and moral values that reflect their actions. All positions are not covered.

US Senator: Brad Johnson

2nd Congressional district: Elsie Arntzen

Governor: Tanner Smith

Attorney General: Austin Knudson

State Auditor: James Brown

State Senator: Bob Phalen

Supreme Court Chief Justice: Cory Swanson

Supreme Court Justice #3: Dan Wilson

Unopposed positions are not listed and does not reflect a negative opinion of those candidates.

Respectfully,

Larry Woolston

Dear Editor,

I am writing to invite you and everyone reading to get to know a little bit about Montana Farm Bureau Federation. We were established in 1919 to make the business of farming and ranching more profitable and Montana a better place to live. We continue working towards that goal everyday.

We are an organization striving for greatness in everything agriculture related.

We treasure all of our members - the grassroots - you are the backbone of the organization. We enjoy networking with our members and other like minded people and organizations.

We promote accurate ag education in our schools and support many youth projects throughout the year. There are many continuing educational and professional certification opportunities through MFBF and we would love to have you come and check us out. Your voice may be the one needed to expand our advocacy work for a thriving agricultural community here in the state and also on a federal level as well.

And did I mention all the member benefits? There are discounts on hotel, Granger, CAT, Ford, car rentals, insurance, and so much more.

Our MFBF Summer Conference is in Miles City June 10-12. I encourage you to come and check it out. There’s going to be fantastic speakers, educational workshops, and a wonderful Foundation fundraiser dinner on Tuesday evening. Go to the MFBF.org website to register or call any local PRCCFB board members to learn more.

Sincerely,

Darcia Patten

Dist #5 Director & PRCCFB VP
