Museum Looking For Volunteers

Submitted by Deanna Twedt

The 2024 museum season is almost here and the Powder River Historical Museum is looking for volunteers to help out this summer.

Duties that may be held as a volunteer include greeting guests, giving tours (training will be provided if interested in this portion), cleaning, aiding in the rearranging of displays, and possible conducting research.

Volunteers are also allowed to contribute a passion of their own. For instance, if there is a skill you would like to give a lesson on, or if there is something historical about the county you would like to give a talk about, etc. It is best that volunteers be high school age and older. If younger, the child should have a parent or adult with them.

To receive more information please contact museum manager Deanna Twedt by June 3rd, for that is the day that the museum will officially open for the season. Dedicating time to either a morning, afternoon, or a full day once a week would be most helpful. To keep doors open to the public, volunteers are essential. Hope to hear from you!

The museum number is 436-2352.
