Broadus Art Students Make School History

By Kate Ruland

On May 1st, three Broadus students made school history by being the first inductees in the National Jr Art Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. These students were Samantha Threefingers-Hart, Delaney Ruland, and Kaytlin Fairbank (pictured left to right). These three art minded students were selected by instructor and sponsor Kate Ruland. All three girls are a part of our newly formed art club, they all hold a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA, and all have excellent grades in art. These 3 art students have gone above and beyond the normal art class. They all produce art on their own and share with others. The National Art Education Association holds NAHS and NJAHS students in high regard, and with their induction they are eligible to be nationally published, compete at a national level and will be eligible to apply for exclusive art scholarships as seniors, and graduate with honors. A small crowd came to support our new inductees and the local Art and Soul artisans group here in Broadus generously sponsored each of the new members a T-shirt that was designed by Delaney Ruland.
