Broadus Golfers Continue To Top Tournaments

The Broadus golf team has been incredibly busy, golfing in four tournaments over the course of a week as their short spring season nears its end. Despite the jam-packed schedule, the team continues to place at the top of the pile, winning several meets.

Broadus competed in the Fairview Tournament in Sidney on Tuesday, April 23rd. The boys competed amongst a field of 46 golfers and 8 teams, with the Broadus boys golfing a 370 for 3rd place as a team.

Cooper Zimmer placed 8th with an 88. Jeff Cahoon tied for 9th with a 90. Grayson Arithson and Jayce Schroeder tied for 17th with scores of 96, and Justin Aye tied for 36th with a 117.

The Broadus girls won the tournament with a 382. The second place Plentywood team trailed behind with a 434. Six girls teams competed, with 37 golfers in total.

Gracie Barbero and Shyla Madsen each tied for 2nd with a 94, while Emma Isaacs and Aspen Krantz each shot a 97, tying for 4th place. Laney Williams tied for 11th with a 113.

On Friday the 26th, the team competed in the Harlowton Tournament. The boys won second with a 364, competing with five other teams.

Cooper Zimmer shot an 86 for 5th, Jeff Cahoon a 90 for 7th, Grayson Arithson a 91 for 8th, Jayce Schroeder a 97 for 11th, and Justin Aye shot a 112 (place unknown).

The Broadus girls once again won the tournament, golfing a 277, and beating Absarokee’s 308 and Columbus’ 358. Emma Isaacs won the tournament with an 85, Gracie Barbero shot a 94 for 3rd, Laney Williams shot a 98 for 6th, Aspen Krantz a 100 for 7th, and Shyla Madsen a 104 for 9th.

On Saturday, Broadus hosted a tournament.

Golfing in the tournament for Broadus for the boys was Jeff Cahoon, who placed 1st with an 87, Grayson Arithson, who golfed a 92 for 3rd, Kail Irish, placing 8th with a 98, Jayce Schroeder, tieing for 10th with a 101, Justin Aye, placing 15th with a 112, Kanin Krantz, placing 19th with a 124, and Colton Jones, golfing a 146 to place 21st.

The Broadus girls filled the first five spots on the leader board. Emma Isaacs golfed a record score of 79 to place first, Graci Barbero an 89 for 2nd, Shyla Madsen a 102 for 3rd, Laney Williams a 105 for 4th, and Aspen Krantz a 112 for 5th. Kensi Emmons also tied for 10th, golfing a 134.

On Monday of this week, the team was back to Sidney for the Savage Invitational at the Sidney Country Club. Broadus individuals took home first place in both boys and girls.

Cooper Zimmer won the boys event with a score of 85. Grayson Arithson and Jayce Schroeder tied with two other players to golf a 96 and tie for third. Jeff Cahoon golfed a 99 for 7th place.

Emma Isaacs won the girls event, golfing an 83. Gracie Barbero placed second with an 86, and Aspen Krantz third with a 95. Shyla Madsen placed 8th with a 113.

The Sidney Tourney marks the last regular season competition of the year. Now the best scoring golfers on the team will compete next Monday, May 6th, in Sidney, at the Divisional tourney.
