Golfers Compete In Columbus

Isaacs Triumphes Again

Broadus HS golfers competed at the Absarokee/Park City Invite on Tuesday, April 2nd, in Columbus. The course is near the Yellowstone River and features a tight setup with a number of trees, according to Coach Chad Gatlin.

Golfers for Broadus included Emma Isaacs, who won 1st place overall at the meet among the girls with an 86, and Cooper Zimmer, who tied for 5th in the boys with an 82.

Other Braodus golfers included Jeff Cahoon, placing 14th with a 93, Grayson Arithson tying for 15th with a 95, and Jayce Schroeder placing 17th with a 97. The boys had a field of 38 golfers.

Gracie Barbero placed 7th in the girls with a 102, Shyla Madsen and Laney Williams tied for 10th with scores of 105, and Aspen Krantz placed 13th with a 110.

Detailed point totals for the teams were not available, but Coach Chad Gatlin informed us that the Broadus girls attained first as a team, winning by 6 and beating Manhattan/Christian in the process. The boys won third, behind Class B Columbus and Manhattan Christian.

Team members play at Glendive this Tuesday, then at Colstrip on Saturday, April 13th, and then again at Pryor Creek for the Huntley Meet on Thursday the 18th.

On Friday, April 19th, Broadus hosts their final home match, which will also serve as “Senior Night” for the elder statesmen and women on the team.
