Tim Blaede

Timothy Dale Blaede, 56, of Ashland Montana passed away on April 8, 2024, after losing a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Tim was born June 29, 1967, in Rapid City, South Dakota to parents David James & Carole Lavonne Blaede of Custer, South Dakota. It was in Custer where he spent his entire childhood falling in love with lifelong passions that would define him. Tim loved anything that had a motor and tires. He enjoyed dirt track racing, trucking, wrenching and operating equipment. He also enjoyed sports including football, wrestling, weightlifting and pole vaulting. If hunting, camping, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling or being the life of the party were on the agenda, Tim was all in.

Tim graduated from Custer High School in 1985 with a full ride scholarship to Black Hills State University for football where he studied Business Management. In November 1986, he was involved in a severe logging accident where a skidder rolled over him that abruptly ended his football career. In 1989, he moved to Ashland, Montana to pursue a career in Logging. Tim was self-employed most of his life other than a four year stint with Range Telephone. Tim excelled in Logging, Construction, Concrete and the Excavation industries. Tim and Lori also owned The Office Bar in Ashland and have been staples of their Southeast Montana community for decades.

Tim met Lori Hirsch of Miles City, Montana and they married on July 27, 1996. They have two children Austin (Emma) Blaede and Cody Blaede along with two grandchildren Lilah Rae Blaede and Millie Mae Blaede.

Tim is survived by his parents David James Blaede and Carole Lavonne Blaede. He was one of six siblings, David Ray Blaede, Mark (Tammy) Blaede, Debbie (Cary) Gaut, Paul (Robin) Blaede and Nathan Blaede. Nieces include Sarah Mowery, Nichole (Adam) Cline, Amanda (Ross) Myers, Talitha Lampman, Bethany (Jordan) Dykstra, Tara Thompson, Chrissy (Bud) Pettey, Hannah Pettey, Shanna (Enrique) Hafemann, Shyanne (James) McIntire and Sylviane Raveydts. Nephews include Bryce Hirsch, Gage Thompson, David Stephen Blaede, Mark Brandon (Rebecca) Blaede and Cassidy (Katie) Blaede. Father-in-law Les Hirsch, Sisters-in-law Sara Hirsch, and Heidi (Curtis) Obie.

Tim was preceded in death by his Grandmother Mary Tweten, Grandparents Nick & Viola Ganje and Mother-in-law Donna Hirsch.

Tim was thoroughly engaged in his boy's lives, teaching them the art of hard work, coaching them in football and wrestling and sharing with them His love for working on cars and machinery. He taught them his craft as an operator of all kinds of heavy equipment and without a doubt he taught them how to play.

Tim was a giver in his community. Whether it was buying a complete stranger lunch or supporting a young child with cancer, Tim could be found there lending a hand and opening his wallet. There were many days and nights you could find Tim next to a wrestling mat coaching or being a fatherly figure to a host of kids that looked up to him as a role model. He had an impact on people everywhere he went. Of all the qualities that made him who he was, Tim was a man of his word, an intense conviction that was one of the foundations of his life.
