The Broadus AAU wrestlers have been continuing their season in fine fashion. The crew made their presence known to the Black Hills area on January 27th and 28th.
On January 27th in Spearfish placings were as follows: Lincoln Ostendorf-3rd, Carson Williams 3rd, Kreed Graff-4th, Landon Williams-3rd, Rowdy Ryan-6th, Cody Draine-3rd, Sophie Ostendorf-2nd, and Mesa Graff 1st.. Also competing hard were Cole Draine and Monte Goggin.
On January 28th in Belle Fourche placings were as follows: Lincoln Ostendorf-5th, Porter Talcott-1st, Sawyer Ostendorf-6th, Trey Harmon-3rd, Gary Gatlin-1st, Randon Bilbrey-7th, Monte Goggin-3rd, Elena Ostendorf- 1st, and Sophie Ostendorf-1st. Also competing hard were Tatum Alderman and Denver Kuhbacher.
On February 10, sixteen wrestlers competed at the Cam-Plex in Gillette, WY. Placings were: Lincoln Ostendorf-1st, Porter Talcott-1st, Elena Ostendorf-3rd, Marilyn Gatlin-1st, Mason Kolka-3rd, Myla Gatlin-2nd, Gary Gatlin-4th, Gunner Pluhar-4th, Sophie Ostendorf-2nd, and Tyler Jurica-4th. Also competing hard were Carson and Landon Williams, Thane Kolka, Monte Goggin, Sawyer Ostendorf, and Rowdy Ryan,
After the folkstyle competition was a Greco Roman tournament. In this style no leg takedowns are allowed. Monte Goggin placed 2nd, Mason Kolka-2nd, and Thane Kolka-1st.
There has been plenty of blood, sweat, and tears from the parents, but the wrestlers seem to be handling the stresses of competition just fine.
