Stepping Up For Charity

Step For Charity Week 1

By PR Extension Office

Ready, Set, WALK! Ninety-two people on 23 teams STEPPED up to take the Steps for Charity Challenge, a local, annual event that takes place in February and March.

Already we’ve seen participants walking to the post office, walking during coffee breaks, walking the high school hallways, walking to the calving barn and walking to the bank or running errands. Ninety-two people enjoying the fresh air and sunshine or cold and snow depending upon the weather!

Those 92 people will track ALL their steps, which will determine the winning team and the local charity that will receive the most money. It’s a win-win: money is raised for local charities and team members increase their physical activity for better health.

Step counting began February 1st. Each Sunday evening in February and March, team members will record their weekly steps either online (www.powderrivertrails.com), or by phone each Monday morning. Simply call the MSU Extension Office at 406-436-2424. The first week is a short week because February 1st started on Thursday….the step counting and report will be for February 1st through February 4th. Individuals can report for themselves or for their entire team.

Cheer on the teams, donate to charities or simply WALK. Everyone can join the Steps for Charity Challenge fun. Steps for Charity is sponsored by the MSU Extension – Powder River County and Powder River Trails.
