Junior High BPA Competes At Regionals In Baker

The Broadus JH BPA had some tough competition in Baker, during their meet in Mid-December. Attending the regional meet were 54 competitors from Custer, Baker, Hardin, Colstrip, Forsyth, and Plevna. The Broadus JH BPA competitors all placed high enough to qualify for state in at least one event, but can compete in up to three qualified events at state in Billings this March.

The eighth-grade team results were as follows. Lucas Capp and Kade VerWolf placed 1st in Digital Game Design. They were joined by Madisyn Kramme for 1st place in Admin Support Team. The 2nd Place Admin Support Team was our other 8th grade team of Emelyn Harper, Whitney Hartman, Brock Gali, and Christian Oylear. These four also placed 2nd in the Presentation Team event.

For 8th grade individual results, Lucas Capp placed 1st in Human Resource Exploration, and 2nd in Spreadsheets. Emelyn Harper placed 4th in Word Processing. Whitney Hartman placed 4th in Digital Citizenship, 1st in Extemporaneous Speech, 3rd Business Math Concepts, and 2nd Financial Literacy. Madisyn Kramme placed 1st in Digital Citizenship, 3rd in Spreadsheets, and 1st in Financial Literacy. Christian Oylear placed 1st in Graphic Design Promotion. Kade VerWolf placed 5th in Spreadsheets.

For seventh graders, the teams again placed quite well. The Presentation team of Reece Emmons, Addison Harper, and Mesa Fleming placed 1st. The Visual Design team of Sammie Hart, Delaney Ruland, and Maggie Oylear placed 1st as well in the pilot year of this event. Finally, our 7th grade Admin Support team placed 4th which was comprised of Reece, Addison, Sammie, and Mesa.

Individually, Reece Emmons placed 2nd in Word Processing, and 3rd in Extemporaneous Speech. Addison Harper placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speech, and 2nd in Human Resource Exploration. Delaney Ruland placed 3rd in Digital Citizenship, 3rd in Graphic Design Promotion and 1st Entrepreneurship Exploration. Mesa Fleming placed 2nd in Graphic Design Promotion.

Finally, Kensi Emmons was mistakenly omitted from the high school report on placings, and she had a fine day indeed. She placed 6th in Spreadsheet, 7th in Computer Programming Concepts, 2nd in Graphic Design Promotion, 1st in Parli Pro Concepts (open), and 3rd in Project Managemetn Concepts, and 7th in Database Applications as well as being a part of the 1st place Parli Pro Team.
