Randall Named Nursing Home Director

Kylie Randall of Broadus was recently named Administrator at Powder River Manor. She began working as Acting Administrator in September, and in October Kylie passed the national boards, becoming fully certified in the position.

Randall has worked at Powder River Manor since 2019 as an Occupational Therapist, following her wedding to Ross Randall in the summer of 2019. The couple reside on the Randall family ranch south of Broadus.

In addition to her job as Administrator, Kylie continues to work part time as an Occupational Therapist in the County's Physical Therapy Department, located at the Manor.

We spoke to Kylie about the Administrator position, which entails supervising all facets of life at the Manor, from business decisions to standards of care for the residents, to keeping up the facility and staff.

Randall told us that her previous work in treating patients will provide a unique perspective as she transitions into the Administrator role, noting that care for the residents of the Manor is of upmost importance, while also following all guidelines, rules, and regulations.

"Ultimately, this is the residents' home and we want to make the facility as comfortable and welcome as possible for those who call the Manor home," she said.

One of Kylie's goals with the Manor is to update the facility and make it seem more like home. That work is already in action, as portions of the building are repainted in warm, welcoming colors.

Another goal is to increase community relations with the Manor. In years past, school kids would travel to the Manor on a regular basis to perform for the residents. During COVID a lot of those activities ceased, and Randall is keen to begin those activities again. The JH and HS band and choir have scheduled performances at the Manor, and elementary students are reading books with the residents.

Powder River Manor was constructed in 1977 to provide quality local care for elderly members of the community. The facility has a capacity for 41 residents, and currently serves as the home for 20 community members, with several more currently in talks to enter the facility by the end of the year, according to Manor Director of Nursing Paige Powell.
