LaVern Joan Perkins passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 77 in Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, Montana after a battle with lung cancer.
She was born to Elmer Watters and Lydia (Hulford) Watters on May 5, 1946. She attended and graduated from Broadus High School then later in life went to Miles Community College and MSU Northern to continue her education.
LaVern married Glenn Perkins of Gillette Wyoming on February 12, 1966, and worked as a customer service representative for Walmart in Havre, MT.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, rock collecting, and sewing.
LaVern was preceded in death by: Her brother, Frank Watters; her parents: Elmer and Lydia Watters; her grandchildren: Marc DeLaurier, Kable Williams, and Tel Perkins.
She was survived by her husband Glenn Perkins – Havre, MT, sisters and brothers: Virgina Pierce – Broadus, MT, Cora Bynum (Gary)- Eager, AZ, AZ, Clinton Watters – Broadus, MT, Darlene Hance (Jim)– Gillette, Wy, and Mable Lane – Miles City, MT. , children; Starlaen Perkins – Havre, MT, Loren Perkins (Dee) – Belgrade, MT, and Nichcol Harrell (Kevin) – Shepherd, MT , grandchildren: Hayden Williams (Mandy) – Buckey, AZ, Stormi Williams – Great Falls, MT, Christian DeLaurier, Kyle DeLaurier, and Skylar DeLaurier – Havre, MT; Jasmine Harrell – Billings, MT, Racquel Harrell – Missoula, MT, William Harrell – Shepherd, MT, and Cydney Dolson – Stevensville, MT., and great grandchildren: Saint Williams and Shia Williams - Buckey, AZ; Aila Perkins – Great Falls, MT, and Leon DeLaurier – El Cajon, CA.
Family suggests memorials be made to Hi-Line Sletten Cancer Institute in Havre, MT, as a source of ongoing support during her cancer journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 17 @ 2:00 P.M. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus, MT. A 2nd Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre, MT.
