A winter storm last week set the thermometer diving into the negative digits and copious snowfall to blanket the area. If it felt like a rather abrupt change, that was certainly the case, as Broadus went from an 88 degree high on Thursday, October 19th, to a low of -4 degrees just over a week later, on the morning of Friday, October 27th. That means in essentially one week Broadus had a 92 degree swing in temperatures.
Areas along the river received around 6-8” of snow, with light flurries following in the days after the initial storm. Higher elevations, as well as areas along the northern tier of the county received an estimated 10-12” of snow.
