By Senior Center Director Tammy Jackman
The Senior Center received a couple more updates this year thanks to the generosity of the Powder River County Endowment Fund. Last year the inside was painted with funds made available thr the PRCEF and this year we did some cosmetic work on the inside with their help as well.
Our first project was the food pantry. It received a new paint job and a bit of remodeling to add much needed storage above the shelves. Under the countertop was also remodeled adding more storage space for cards, puzzles and games. The light was also dropped down to give better lighting to the food pantry shelves. It is very bright and clean looking now and we continue to get many compliments on it.
The second project was repainting and installing car siding half way up the wall on the North and West sides in the bathroom. Those areas were then trimmed with barnwood. We have new curtains, furniture and pictures up in there as well. A new mirror was also donated and hung above the sink.
Our final project was carpeting the Director's office. This gave the office a more professional look and is helping with keeping the floor cleaner. We also put down new trim around the floor and purchased new curtains. With the paint job from last year the office has an inviting look to it now.
These projects would not be possible without the funding from the PRCEF. We appreciate their help immensely and look forward to working with them in the future.
