Hawks Plagued By Injuries In Loss To Park City

Broadus traveled to Park City to play the Panthers on their home football field last Thursday. Prior to the game, four Hawk starters were out due to injury, meaning a young team had to start even younger players at various positions. During the Park City game two more players were injure. Lineman Duke Blankenship went down with a concussion just as the Hawks were coming back and had pulled within 3 points. In the third quarter, Isaiah McMullan incurred with a broken collar bone, bringing the number of injured Hawks to six, and leaving only nine players available for the rest of the game, and for the final remaining game at St. Labre.

Broadus went on to lose the game 40-18, with the Hawks running game providing the entire offense as the team ran for 171 yards, led by QB Jayce Schroeder with 94 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Schroeder went 0 for 10 on passes.

On defense, Logan Capp had 5 solo tackles and 6 assists to lead the team. Jayce Schroeder had an interception, Landen Capp had a sack and caused a fumble and Riggin Schaffer had a fumble recovery.

The nine members of the Hawk team who are still able to take the field now travel to St. Labre this Saturday for their final game of the season. St. Labre lost 0-48 to Forsyth and 12-56 to Park City so far this season; we didn't have info on if they played last weekend. The St. Labre game was originally scheduled for Friday, but has been moved to Saturday at 1 pm.
