The Broadus Cross Country team ran along the perimeter of the Miles City Town & Country Club last week, as Thomas Oylear ran to a win in the boys varsity.
The Broadus boys placed 2nd overall, with two runners in the top 10. Miles City won the meet, with four runners in the top 20 overall, to top out the standings with 56 points to Broadus' 73. Glasgow came in third, at 80 points (least number of points wins).
The Broadus girls have been quietly working their way up the state cross country standings – as of Monday, Coach Emmons told us the girls are currently ranked 6th in the state in Class C.
Two Broadus runners – Josh Rasmussen and Jaxon Bilbrey, are currently out due to injury. As of Monday, Josh was awaiting medical results to determine his plans, while Jaxon was day to day.
This week Broadus hosts their race, at the golf course on Friday. Spectators are welcome to come check out the action as Broadus hosts teams from ten other high schools, and seven middle schools. The first race is scheduled to begin at 11, with JV and Varsity boys. At 11:30 the JV and Varsity Girls will begin. At 12:15 junior high boys will race in the 1.5 mile, and at 12:35 junior high girls.
