Tulsa Concern Camp Started

“It’s the largest one in of its type in the world,” said party chief E.H. Weltsch of the Seismograph Service Corporation of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a company that has recently established base headquarters in Broadus and sub camp one and one-half miles north of Sayle.

The staff, pared down to 14 men from the original 25 that arrived in Broadus a few weeks ago, has completed construction on eight pre-fabricated army type houses on the Sayle location. Each building is on a 16 square foot foundation, and will house crew members of the Shot Point Inc. Drilling Co. from Dallas, Texas, who are under contract to the Seismograph Corporation. Two drills and seven men make up the Shot Point Company that is on the location.

A company dining hall has been erected on the site and a two way radio service between main offices in Broadus and the Sayle camp is being established. A camp power plant is also in operation.

Farmington, New Mexico was the last place of exploratory work by the Seismograph crew before coming to Broadus.
