Fair Open Class Results

"You can't beat our fair," exclaimed one fairgoer, "the talent is amazing and you know every exhibitor."

The fair, scheduled earlier this year than in years past, held its own for the quality of items entered. The number of exhibits were up in several areas including quilts, handwork and photography. Thanks to the work of superintendents Bonnie Lyda and Linda Bird, quilts decorated the walls of the community center including a magnificent king size quilt made by local quilter and artist, Elaine Allen.

Don Birkholz entered blueberries in Open Class Garden for the first time in the history of the Powder River County Fair. Don explained that it takes about six conditions to grow blueberries in Powder River County, and Don would know since he has also grown perhaps the only peaches and only sweet potatoes in Powder River County.

Another fairgoer recognized and appreciated the involvement of the entire community in creating a county fair.

It really takes each and every one to create a successful county fair. The open class results are as follows:
