"Chester" the miniature horse exhibited by Ava Landa was popular with kids of all ages at the Fair.
Grand Champion Western Pleasure class ended in a tie between Laney Williams and Alivia Landa. They received a cash award sponsored by McGill Land & Livestock – Lewis & Tawny McGill and Powder River County Fair.

"We brought 4 and ½ horses to town," commented Alivia Landa following the 4-H Horse Show on Tuesday of the Fair. Alivia was fondly referring to her sister Ava's miniature horse "Chester" who stole the hearts of all who met him during the Fair as the "half a horse".
The five contestants who baked in triple digit temperatures earned every award and an additional one for perseverance, commented MSU Extension Agent Mary Rumph.
"Nine hours baking in the sun with the final class ending in time for some families to literally fight fire," added Rumph. "It just shows you what SE Montana folks are made of!" Horse Show superintendents T.J. and Heather Cunningham and Liz Barbour kept the show going with the help of Becca Aye, Teen 4-H Superintendent.
Alivia made multiple trips to the winner's circle with multiple horses. She was named Champion Senior Showman; she won Grand Champion Conformation with her 2-year old and Reserve Grand Champion Conformation with her 3-year old; Champion 2-year-old under saddle; Reserve Grand Champion Colt-Under-Saddle with her 2-year-old; Grand Champion Green Horse; Grand Champion Western Horsemanship; Reserve Grand Champion Reining; Reserve Grand Champion Trail; tied with Laney Williams for Grand Champion Western Pleasure; and won Grand Champion Bareback.
Other spectacular performances included Laney Williams with her Grand Champion Colt-Under-Saddle; Champion Junior Showman, Grand Champion Trail; tie for Grand Champion Western Pleasure; Reserve Grand Champion Bareback and Reserve Grand Champion Working Ranch Horse.
Grand Champion Working Ranch Horse honors went to Zach Jones. Zach's younger brother Colton was very competitive, earning Grand Champion Reining; Reserve Grand Champion Western Pleasure and Reserve Champion Junior Showman.
Ava Landa showed her miniature horse "Chester" on the halter and also in driving, capturing the Grand Champion Small Equine award.
The Top Horse Exhibitor award went to Alivia Landa and Laney Williams getting the Reserve Grand Champion Exhibitor award.
