United States Postal Service raised First-Class Mail rates July 9.

One ounce First-Class Mail letters went from 63 cents to 66 cents.

Metered First-Class Mail letters weighing 1 ounce went from 60 cents to 63 cents.

Postcards sent within United States rose from 48 cents to 51 cents. International postcards went from $1.45 to $1.50, which is the same rate for 1-ounce First-Class International letters.

The increases will raise First-Class Mail prices approximately 5.4 percent to offset the rise in inflation, according to the United States Postal Service website.

USPS will also adjust prices for Special Service products including Certified Mail; Post Office Box rental fees; money order fees and the cost to purchase insurance when mailing an item.
