Recent Broadus grad and football standout Paysen Kuhbacher played in the 39th Bob Cleverley 8-Man All-Star game in Butte on Saturday night.
Kuhbacher played for the Red team in the annual event, which places outstanding 8-man players from around the state into two teams – Red and Blue. Players travel to Butte and practice with their teammates (many of whom may have been opponents on other teams in high school) throughout the week, and then face off in gridiron action Saturday.
The Blue team took the win after the Red team came within one possession early in the fourth quarter. The Blue team won 56-40.
Kuhbacher made the All-Star team as a senior after being selected as an All-State player in 2022, making 1st team defense in the Southeastern 8-man for his skills at defensive end, and 2nd team offense as a tight end.
Other players from the Southeast on the Red team roster included four players from Joliet, one from Park City, and one from Forsyth. The team was coached by Jason Oslter of Drummond-Philipsburg.
