The Broadus Hawk Music Students soared to excellence at State Music Festival in Billings this past weekend. The came home with 16 superior ratings and 4 excellent ratings after performing in front of a number of adjudicators both on Friday and Saturday.
State Music Festival is the culmination of a year of hard work by high school music students. Students must earn a superior rating at District Music Festival to perform at the State competition. This year there were students from 53 schools on the eastern side of the Montana that participated in the festival in Billings.
While there, students had the opportunity to work with college music professors to help them prepare for All State Band, Choir, and Orchestra next fall. They also got to see a concert by the ensemble WindSync.
