County Burn Notification Service Up And Running

The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department would like everyone to know we have started a county burn notification service. It can be accessed at https://app.egovmt.com/ burnpermit/.

This is a free program that will make it easier for the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department to know where and when a controlled burn is happening.

Every year we spend many wasted volunteer hours and county resources going out and looking for fires that turn out to be non-reported controlled burns. This is a simple program to use and costs nothing for the individual. You can still call the Sheriff’s Department and let them know, and we will enter it into the system. You can also look at the website to see if there are any controlled burns in the county, for instance if you spot smoke and want to see if it is a wildfire or controlled burn.

This program is not required, but would make it easier for everyone if it is used.
