It may seem like we’ve been in winter hibernation with our newsletters, but we’re back with springtime news from the Powder River Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber board voted to continue our current meeting structure in 2023, so in January, for the first of our quarterly Positive Partnership meetings, our board toured the new facilities at Auggie’s Meat Processing Plant. Reaching out to learn about new businesses in our community is part of our goal to support and promote local business and entrepreneurs. Are you a new business in Broadus? We’re interested to hear your story and we hope you’ll consider a Chamber membership to help grow your community awareness.
February brought our general membership business meeting where we discussed membership packages for the upcoming fiscal year. We encourage current and prospective members to attend our next business meeting on May 10th where we will finalize the membership tiers and benefits that take effect July 1st.
Our community service meeting in March included a social gathering at the common room of the Sagebrush Inn & Suites, where board members assembled and installed a Little Free Library.
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that promotes access to reading through the practice of “Take a Book. Share a Book.” You can find the Broadus location registered along with hundreds of other free libraries on the app and website at littlefreelibrary.org
If you’re a non-profit group operating in Broadus, please reach out to us! We’re looking for new community service projects to fill our meeting agenda in 2023!
We’re so eager for summer that planning has already begun for 4th of July celebrations. The pre-order deadline for the annual fireworks show is coming up this week and we’re asking for donations! Businesses and individuals that contribute as fireworks sponsors will receive advertising credit on the official 4th of July poster. If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Kurt Copps, preferably by April 10th, with your pledge amount.
