After 11 days of ice jams threatening residents along Powder River in March, the ice jams went out sometime late on March 31/Early on April 1, including the jam south of Broadus, the jam just north of the bridge near Broadus, and a third jam downstream of Broadus near Earley's.
The ice jam near Broadus last week is pictured above, in an aerial photo courtesy of Ryan DeVore. Note the proximity to the sewer lagoons, and the old river channel into which the river backed up to try and circumvent the jam.
