SENIOR HAPPENINGS

By Senior Center Director Tammy Jackman

Hopefully Spring is just around the corner, I think we are all ready for warmer days, full reservoirs, green grass and flowers.

We still have exercises 4 days a week at the Center. Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 am and 4 pm with Julie Riley and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 am with Cressi Johnson. It’s a great way to get in shape for all of your fun summer activities.

We finished up our Thursday cooking class a couple of weeks ago, so now we will resume the ladies lunch out on April 20th at noon at Seabeck’s Pizza.

Bunco will be on April 18th at 1:00 pm.

We have ladies stitching and lunch on the April 11th and 25th, bring your handwork down and join us and of course hand and foot every afternoon.

Cressi and Adam Johnson will be at the center on April 12th at 12:30 to do blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and answer any questions you may have. They are very thorough and enjoy visiting with everyone. Linda Wolff will be at the Center on April 12th, if you need to see her please contact Tammy at 406-436-2635.

CONGREGATE MEALS:

4/5—Corn Chowder Soup, Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Brownie

4/12—Broccoli Cheese Soup, Steak Strips, Gems, Cupcakes

4/19—Clam Chowder Soup, Fish/Chips, Cherry Pineapple Crisp

4/26—Chicken Noodle Soup, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Apple Cake

We are so thankful for all the donations we get to the food bank. We have a couple of ladies (Ginger Johnstone and Lori Dinstel) who have a “couple” of chickens and they bring us dozens of eggs on a regular basis and we appreciate those so very much.

Ann Emmons brought in cans of tuna which is also an item I can’t keep on the shelf. The Coalwood Ladies Aid brought in several food bank items as did Sandy Smith and Cressi Johnson brought in several cans of chicken.

Our food bank would be pretty slim if it weren’t for all the people throughout the year that donate to it. It is appreciated more than you know.

Also, a HUGE thank you to Cass Zimmer for helping me unload the Food Bank truck last week. That can be quite an undertaking when the driver can’t get the pallet to the sidewalk due to snow.

The Senior Center is open Monday-Thursday from 8-4, so stop in and see us. Have a cup of coffee, work on the puzzle, grab a book or just have a visit, we would love to have you.
