Steps For Charity Marches Into Spring
“Gotta love Arizona,” exclaimed a Steps for Charity member who doubled her steps from all the walking she’s doing.
“When I can’t walk outdoors, I rely on "Walk at Home" videos on YouTube,” explained another Steps team member.
The cold, wintry spring has been hard on Steps for Charity members tracking their steps except perhaps those mucking out stalls in the calving barns. It has been a trying spring weatherwise whether it’s calving, traveling to basketball tournaments or simply driving to the grocery store.
No matter the weather, the charities still benefit. Two charities recognized this week are Erin’s Hope Project and St. Vincent de Paul.
Erin’s Hope Project, Inc. is the charity chosen by Jacam Joggers, sponsored by Jacam Chemical, consisting of James Riley, Bailee Murnion and Shannon and Lainey Smith. Erin’s Hope Project, Inc. was created in March 2011 in memory of nine-year old Erin Hope, who passed away following a two-year battle with cancer. Erin touched many lives, had a heart full of joy and brought love to all who knew her. Erin’s Hope Project, Inc., located in Miles City, gives hope to children with life-threatening illness.
St. Vincent de Paul was the charity chosen by the Mizpah Masters 4-H Club and includes team members Kaylan Reaves, Madisyn Kramme, William Rodda and Faith Hopkins. The 4-Hers chose St. Vincent’s because they like how much St. Vincent’s gives back to the community, and they love shopping at the second hand store located on the courthouse square.
High school hallways are available to walk during this cold wintry spring from 7 to 7:45 a.m. or 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. each weekday.
