The Broadus Elementary Battle of the Books was held on Thursday, February 23. The event included 20 students in two and three person groups, who had each read from a list of twelve books to answer questions such as: In which book did dinner taste excellent even if it was the result of an armed robbery?
The 5th and 6th grade battle included the following teams: Tyler Jurica, Delaney Ruland, and Sammie Hart; Maggie Oylear and Addison Harper; and the winning team of Mesa Fleming, Reece Emmons, and Anna Hagedorn (pictured above left). Tyler Jurica will sub in for Anna Hagedorn at the state battle to be held on March 1, which as usual will be held remotely from the school.
The 3rd and 4th grade battle teams included: Maci Emmons, Mikayla Capp, and Mesa Graff; Charles Hartman, Skyler Burek, and Sophie Ostendorf; Cole Draine, Faith Hopkins, and Clinton Handran (who was sick on the day of the battle); and the winning team of Dylan Krantz, Kaylan Reaves, and Senra Gnerer (pictured above right).
