Hunters Found Does but Not Many Bucks
Deer hunting season which was open for three days this year on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, brought hundreds of visitors from the eastern part of the state to hunt in Powder River County. The visitors made up only a small proportion of the hunters as nearly every man in the county was out sometime during the three day period after game. The hunting was limited to bucks and most of the hunters report a shortage of bucks while reporting hundreds of does and fawns. Sheriff Claude Anderson said Tuesday that he sold a total of 399 hunting licenses during the month of October and that since the first of the year has sold 581 licenses which brought the state $1,473.20.
