Broadus FFA Travels To Glendive For Districts

On Monday the 26th, the Broadus FFA chapter traveled to Glendive to participate in district Livestock Judging and Range.

The top team qualifiers will participate at the state competition next spring.

For Livestock Judging, eleven chapter members participated. The participants were Rheanna Schroeder, April Wood, Mia Mader, Alivia Landa, Peyton Simmons, Maggie Mader, Darren VerWolf, Kayleigh Opstedahl, Kensi Emmons, Gracie Gali, and Addison Draine.

Rheanna Schroeder and Alivia Landa both placed in the top ten with Rheanna coming in first and Alivia coming in ninth.

The senior Livestock Judging team consisting of Rheanna Schroeder, April Wood, Mia Mader, and Alivia Landa placed first and will be competing in the state competition next spring.

For the Range competition, four members participated. The participants were Marcus Mader, Aiden Kenelly, Maggie Mader, and Kensi Emmons. Marcus Mader placed in the top ten coming in fourth.

The team, consisting of the members mentioned earlier, placed third overall.

Unfortunately there is no state Range contest. Faith Dyrud, Broadus's Ag Teacher, commented on the contests saying, "The teams did well for the first event of the year and I look forward to seeing them grow as the year continues."
