The local fine art society, Art & Soul, worked together on a collaborative art piece, which is pictured above. The artists involved, each making a portion of the piece included Jan Stevens, Connie Barnhart, Ronda Gatlin, Jordan Smith, Lana Smith, Gaylene Fortner, Ann Emmons, Sonja Harrington, and Kate Ruland. This artwork will be awarded to a ticket holder at the "Art Stampede", September 3-4.

Art & Soul, a local fine art society, is hosting the second annual Art Stampede, held in conjunction with the Powder River Quarter Horse Breeders Association horse sale September 3-4, 2022 at the fair barn here in Broadus, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm each day. The fine art show and sale involving local artisans showcasing their works of art to the local community. Vendors at Art Stampede this year include: Ann Emmons, Emma Isaacs, Susan Jerke, Laura Lee Ullrich, Ronda Gatlin, Lana Smith, Kate Ruland, Karen Woodring, Blondie Woolston, Jan Stevens, Gaylene Fortner, and Miranda Minow.
Art & Soul is also promoting local art by hosting a contest for children ranging in age from preschool through the sixth grade, with three different divisions being offered. This is the second year of offering the Art On The Range Contest. The entry deadline is September 2nd with artwork to be delivered to the north end of the Fair Barn by 3:00 pm. Art & Soul is excited to share with the public their first collaborative art piece. Created for the upcoming Art Stampede, this piece of art was created by several local artists including: Connie Barnhart, Ann Emmons, Gaylene Fortner, Ronda Gatlin, Sonja Harrington, Kate Rutland, Jordan Smith, Lana Smith, and Jan Stevens. Various mediums were used in the creation of this one-of-a-kind piece including oils, acrylics, colored pencils and watercolors. The piece was from a photograph taken by Gaylene with it being cropped and divided by Lana. The artists were then presented with a color photo of their section. After they completed their section, Lana assembled all pieces onto a backing board. The final piece to the puzzle was the addition of custom beadwork by Laura Lee Ullrich. The piece will be on display at the Art Stampede show and sale and will be raffled off. Tickets are available for purchase for $10 each. In addition, those who purchase from the vendors at the art show and sale will be awarded one ticket for each $20 spent. Tickets can be purchased at the show or from members of the club. The winner will be announced on September 4 at 5:00 pm. The winner need not be present to win; however the winner will need to pay shipping if necessary.
