Great Livestock Show at the County Fair!

The Schroeder family excelled again this year at the Fair, and as judge Kevin Murnin noted, "The animal in the show ring today reflects the work they have done with their livestock for many months at home."

Jayce Schroeder exhibited the Grand Champion Market Steer and Grand Champion Beef Breeding Female, receiving buckles sponsored by Earl and Betty Aye and Kurt and Julie Collins. The Reserve Grand Champion Market steer was shown by his sister Rheanna, who received an award sponsored by Horizon Marketing Agency.

The two top steers will compete in Miles City at the Eastern Montana Fair in the Champion of Champions Show on Saturday, August 27th at 1 pm.

Reserve Grand Champion Beef Breeding went to Anna Hagedorn, who also captured Champion Angus Female with her yearling heifer. She received awards sponsored by Owen & Mary Rumph and Gnerer Angus Ranch.

The Schroeder "four" made a clean sweep in the showmanship ring. Rheanna was the Champion Senior Beef Showman, receiving a buckle sponsored by the Green Family and John & Julie Riley and a cash award sponsored by Denbury Onshore. Reserve Champion Senior Showman honors went to her bother Jayce, who received an award sponsored by Karrels Cattle Company. Champion Junior Showman was Danica who received a buckle sponsored by Tracy & Becky Anderson and a cash award sponsored by Denbury Onshore. Sister Jordyn earned the Reserve Champion Junior Beef Showman award, sponsored by Dean & Jill Kolka. The Best Beginner Showman in the Beef Show was Paisley Harper, who received an award sponsored Kady Creek Cattle.

Lauryn Billing exhibited the Grand Champion Market Hog, receiving a buckle sponsored by Craig & Jackee Randall. First time Fair exhibitor Paisley Harper won the Reserve Grand Champion Market Hog, receiving an award sponsored by the Trucano Ranch. Danica Schroeder won the Grand Champion Breeding Swine award sponsored by PRCF. The Schroeder "four" captured honors in showmanship with Rheanna selected as the Champion Senior Showman, receiving a buckle sponsored by Andrew and Jeridee Cathey and Pat Phillips in memory of Carl and a cash award sponsored by Denbury Onshore. Brother Jayce won Reserve Champion Senior Showman, receiving an award sponsored by Mills Auction Service. Danica won Champion Junior Showman, receiving a buckle sponsored by Kyle & Terri Lindberg; and Jordyn captured Reserve Champion, earning an award sponsored by Mills Auction Service.

In the showring for the first time and winner of the Beginner Swine Showman was Rickee Bilbrey, receiving an award sponsored by Bub & Carlene Gaskill.

The Grand Champion Market Lamb was exhibited by Addison Randall, who received a buckle donated by Kyle & Shelly West. Macey Madsen's lamb received Reserve Grand Champion honors, earning an award sponsored by Jiggs & Marlee Bilbrey. Delaney Ruland exhibited the Grand Champion Breeding Sheep, receiving a buckle sponsored by the Biddle Busy Beavers 4-H Club. Delaney also had the Grand Champion Feeder Lamb, receiving an award sponsored by Andrew & Jeridee Cathey and the PR Conservation District.

Rickee Bilbrey was a repeat winner in showmanship, capturing the Beginner Sheep Showman award sponsored by the Riter Ranch. Champion Senior Showman was Ashton Madsen, who received a buckle sponsored by Dan & Lisa Lynch and Charles Carter, Inc. and a cash award sponsored by Denbury Onshore. Addison Randall went to the winner's circle as Reserve Junior Showman, receiving an award sponsored by Calvert Backhoe.

Sophie Ostendorf was the Grand Champion Goat Exhibitor, receiving a buckle sponsored by the PRCF. Sophie also won the Best Beginner Goat Showman award, also sponsored by PRCF. Kassie Hagedorn was a dual winner, capturing the Reserve Grand Champion Goat award sponsored by the Broadus FFA Alumni; and Champion Junior Goat Showman honors sponsored by The Daisy Patch – Michelle & Chad Wilson. Her sister Anna received Reserve Champion Goat Showman honors, receiving an award sponsored by Olson Farm & Ranch.

The Grand Champion Poultry Exhibitor was Kayleigh Osptedahl with her hen "Charlotte" receiving a cash award sponsored by the Dinstel Family. Delaney Ruland won the Champion Junior Showman award, receiving cash sponsored by the PRCF. Sophie Ostendorf was the Reserve Grand Champion Poultry Exhibitor with her duck, receiving a cash award sponsored by PRCF. William Rodda earned Reserve Champion Poultry Showman and sold a pen of three fryers.
