By Senior Center Director Tammy Jackman
WOW are we really into August already? The summer has just flown by it seems. Eight seniors and myself took a trip to Sheridan on July 28th to visit Fort Phil Kearny. We had a wonderful lunch in Buffalo at the Bozeman Trail and then we checked out the amazing Amish store on Trabing Road. I believe the thing everyone wanted to take home from the store was the cute Corgi puppy, he was a hit.
I have been posting the monthly calendar and any trips we are going to take on the Powder River County Senior Center Facebook page. So, if you have a social media device, please check it out, if not you can find the information here. Also, you can just call the center at 436-2635 and I would be more than happy to chat with you and let you know our schedule.
A few of the activities we will be having this month:

Congregate Meal each Wednesday 11-12:30 at the Bowling Alley
Ladies Lunch Out—11th @ noon @ Seabeck’s Pizza
Trip to Terry on the 18th to go to the museum, have lunch and hopefully visit with Kathy Roberts. Please let Tammy know if you would like to go.
ADDING BUNCO NEXT MONTH so let me know if you are interested in playing so I can get you on the list.

We do have a home modification program here at the center. There is a lifetime $1500 limit. It can help with any type of home modification that will help any senior to stay in their home longer. Such as widening doors, lowing countertops, raising toilets, installing handrails etc. If you are interested, please call Tammy at the center or just drop by during center hours.
Linda Wolff will be here on Sept. 14th if you need any help with Medicare or just have questions. Please call the center to get on her schedule.
Please join us for any of these activities or maybe you have an idea for something new, if so, I would love to hear it. I am at the Senior Center Monday-Thursday 8-4, and as always, I would love to have anyone stop by. Remember we also have the food bank and it is here to help ANYONE who lives in Powder River County.
Until next time.
