Runner Stops Through Broadus During Coast To Coast Journey

Greg Nance, an ultramarathon runner who is running his way across the country stopped through Broadus last week. Nance is currently running an average of 47.25 miles per day from the shores of the Atlantic in Long Island to the Pacific Coast in Washington.

Nance, who at one time ran 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days, according to his website, is running across the US as part of his Run Far Foundation, to help raise money for mental health in young people. The foundation has raised over $60,000 at the time Nance ran through Broadus. His foundation funds youth led volunteer projects in all 50 states, and during his journey he has been connecting with young people.

Nance ran through Broadus on June 14th, reaching Home Creek Divide that evening, and staying in Broadus that night (he was transported back and forth via vehicle).

For more information on Greg's trip, or for those looking to donate to the cause, please visit runfarfoundation.org; the site also has a tracker for those looking to see a day by day update of Greg's progress. As of Tuesday morning when we went to print, Greg was running through Reed Point.
