Federal offices will be closed in commemoration of the Juneteenth holiday, on Monday, June 20th. The post office will also be closed on Monday, as will Yellowstone Bank.
State and local government offices will remain open on that day.
The Juneteenth holiday takes place June 19th and is recognized officially on the following Monday, and commemorates the emancipation of enslaved black Americans. The celebration dates back to 1866, and was first made a state holiday in Texas in 1980, and has since been recognized by all other states in the Union. The day was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.
