Letter to the Editor:
I am introducing myself as a candidate for the Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc. Board of Trustee position for District #2.
I recognize that the demand for faster and more reliable technology has never been greater. The need for telecommunications has vastly grown over the past few years. As a society we have shifted to using communication technology in day-to-day activities including, but not limited to entertainment, networking, working from home, on-line shopping, and learning.
I also recognize the challenges of implementing new technology, including the remoteness of our region and financial burden of providing up-to-date services to sparsely populated areas. Additional short term (hopefully) challenges include supply and labor shortages. This includes materials used to install and improve communication services as well as equipment and service units.
Federal funding for broadband infrastructure is an integral part of fiber optic cable installation. Recent legislation has made a lot of federal money available. It is exciting to consider being a part of the decision making that will make use of this money in the most beneficial and responsible manner possible for Range Cooperative members.
If elected, I will promote doing the most we can do with the resources we have available. I strongly believe in Range’s focus, “One Company, One Network.” I have confidence I can be an asset to the corporation by growing and fulfilling the demand for next generation communication technology. I look forward to serving this community and being a part of the solution to provide the best technology communications. Thank you for your time and please vote!
