There are two additional teams who chose the Amanda Gaskill Spay and Neuter Fund, a local charity that raises funds to help manage the cat population in Broadus and also remembers a great friend and cat lover, Amanda Gaskill.
Team 4 Scores and 7 Blisters Ago includes Kate and Kyle Copelan, Cindy May and Cathleen D’Arduini.
Team Support Unit includes Elizabeth and Phil Reierson, Amber Soloman and Heather Brownfield.
Steps for Charity ends on March 31st. Over the last two months, participants were motivated to move and the little steps or changes they made, make a big difference in both the health of the participants and the health of local charities. Research shows that spending 2,000 to 2,500 calories a week in a walking program, according to Robert Sweetgall, author of Walking Off Weight, the average middle-aged person extends his or her life by two years. All those steps from shed hunting, walking to work, walking to the post office or walking a few extra minutes each day or after each meal are the little changes that make big, healthy differences and our local charities benefit.
