Are you interested in working more effectively with others? An intentional leadership program, Big Sky, Big Leadership, is slated for people interested in learning and practicing leadership skills in Powder River County in 2022. An exciting introduction to the comprehensive program is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th at 6 pm at the Broadus Community Center. The introductory session, called Gracious Space, is a practical guide for working better together according to MSU Extension, Powder River County Agent Julie Riley. An evening of refreshments, fun and engaged learning is planned.
Extension, the Powder River Chamber of Commerce and Ag, and other interested community members, are initiating the leadership program in response to the ReImagining Rural series during which participants identified a leadership void. Inspired by the interest of the participants to improve current leadership skills; to acquire additional knowledge; and to renew motivation to be community leaders defined the advent of Big Sky, Big Leadership series which will begin in January and conclude in June.
The motivational Gracious Space, developed by the Center for Ethical Leadership in Seattle, is a proven, collaborative leadership model that fosters a safe emotional environment so groups can work better together. It is the "special sauce" that makes everything better — whether a planning process, performance review, new partnership, or team decision. Over the past 15 years, Gracious Space has helped thousands of people in 30 states and 35 countries collaborate more courageously and creatively around critical issues.
More information is available by contacting the Powder River Extension Office at 436-2424 or emailing [email protected]. Please RSVP by December 1st.
