Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Amsden called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Councilperson Morris moved to approve minutes as submitted by Clerk Fruit. Councilperson Turnbough seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Council agreed to the appointment of Raevyn Slovek to the vacant Council position. Mayor Amsden appointed Raevyn Slovek as Councilperson whom will begin her term at the next Council meeting.
County Commissioner Donna Giacometto and Sheriff Drane discussed with the Council the amount the Town is currently paying for Law Enforcement and would like this amount raised. Sheriff Drane requested this raise for the amount of coverage they do for the Town. Clerk Fruit explained that only two ordinances were to be enforced by the Sheriff’s Department, which were Pet Ordinance and Curfew Ordinance plus being the law enforcement presence for the Town. Clerk Fruit explained the limited amount of money the general fund has which is where those funds come from. Council agreed to consider this and see if any extra monies were available.
Public Works Zimmer reported we will be getting asphalt mid-July, will pour dumpster pads, and place culverts on Lincoln Avenue, and perform some right of way work on Lincoln Avenue to establish some water ways to the culverts. Park bathrooms have new doors and the interior has been painted. Summer help will be Zander Hubler and Cooper Zimmer. We currently have a community service worker helping. The new Merry Go Round is ready to be installed.
Public Works Ragsdale reported that only one engineering firm responded to the newspaper ads for on call engineers. Councilperson Turnbough moved to accept their proposal. Councilperson Morris seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Lee and Sonia submitted a property survey change for Council approval. Councilperson Morris moved to accept the changes. Councilperson Turnbough seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Claims were reviewed and approved by Council.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Amsden called this meeting of the Council to order at 6:00 p.m.
Clerk Fruit introduced Gavin Kenny, Montana Conservation Corps; he discussed what he was doing during his stay in Broadus and attending a Town Council meeting is part of these requirements.
Public Works Zimmer reported summer help is going well, they have been cleaning up right of way and general maintenance around the Town. Asphalt is here and patching is beginning. Council agreed to donate some asphalt to the golf course for repairs.
Public Works Ragsdale has completed fixing a fire hydrant leak; submitted suggestions to SEMDC for ways the ARPA money will benefit the Town.
Claims were reviewed and approved by Council.

Councilperson Raevyn Slovek; Councilperson Lori Turnbough; Councilperson Cody Morris; Councilperson Wanda Smith; Public Works Raymond Ragsdale; and Clerk Peggy Fruit.
Clerk Fruit opened the Budget Hearing for the Proposed 2021-2022 Town Budget at 6:00 p.m. Notices of the hearing were posted around town. No one appeared to speak for or against the proposed budget for the Town of Broadus. Clerk Fruit explained the various changes to the budget to include the possible ARPA money to be used for Water and Waste Water projects for the Town. Another bill was received from Interstate Engineering concerning the finishing up of the lagoon project; this was added to the budget. After review of the budget information, the budget hearing closed at 6:35 p.m.
Councilperson Turnbough moved to approve the following budget resolutions: Resolution No: 2021-02 Budget approval; Resolution No: 2021-03 Employee wages during budget year 2021-2022; Resolution No: 2021-04 Providing for purchase of materials from the State of Montana Department of Transportation during budge year 2021-2022; Resolution No: 2021-05 Assessment of costs for Street Light Maintenance 2021-2022 (no change); Resolution No: 2021-06 Assessment of costs for Street Maintenance 2021-2022 (no change). Councilperson Morris seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Claims were reviewed and approved by Council.
With no further business before the Council, this Council meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
