The VFW Auxiliary met October 15, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall with eight members present. Our District 6 president Joby Parker, from Forsyth, made her official visit to our auxiliary that evening. She inspected our treasurer’s and secretary’s book. She brought material for us from National that had guidelines and ideas in them to help us with our different programs.
After calling our meeting to order according to ritual, we proceeded with our business meeting.
Sue Richards gave a report on serving food at the cornhole tournament the Post had. She felt it went well and that it didn’t require a lot of people to handle it. Thank you, Sue, Patti and Molly for taking care of this and Pat Ridenour for ordering and picking up the food.
We discussed helping the Post with their Halloween party on the 30th. A committee was set up to take care of the food items we will help them with.
We had decided to get highchairs for the little ones. Tracey Gorder was in charge of this project. She brought the two chairs we purchased to our meeting. We think they are a helpful addition to the services we provide.
We also discussed Veterans Day. Because of COVID on the rise again we will honor our veterans with about the same format as last year. A committee was established to put decorations together to place on each resident’s door at the Manor. They will also each receive a cupcake. Our Manor residents enjoy being part of these celebrations.
We concluded the meeting sharing pizza while President Joby shared comments and took part in discussion about our auxiliary. She was pleased with all we do and how we conduct our meetings and we were pleased she was pleased.
