Still I Walk, a walk to promote mental health awareness is set for this Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., beginning on the Courthouse Square in Broadus. Participants can walk 1 block or the entire round trip 6.6 mile trek to the golf course and back. Registration supports local mental health and recovery awareness. Participants receive a t-shirt, chili lunch and a chance for great physical activity – WALKING.
Powder River Trails and Powder River County MSU Extension Service are promoting the Still I Walk event. Register in advance by contacting the Extension Office at 436-2424, or that day of the WALK. Walking will take place from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. Chili and refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the walk.
We want to celebrate the mental health awareness work that so many people are currently doing. The Youth Issues Coalition, a local MSU Extension Service committee, promotes mental health awareness. A link to access mental health resources was recently created on the Broadus.net website. Parents can access phone numbers, websites and resources for a variety of mental health needs including crises and immediate help, self-care tips and parenting resources. Also available at Broadus.net is a link to a searchable database of mental health care providers from across the state.
Celebrate mental health awareness and promote physical activity.
